SUTTON COMMUNITY HALL |
SURVEY RESULTS |
Sutton Community Council is asking for public input on the Community Hall project. See more about the project below and then take the survey to the right. A paper version of the survey is also available at the library.
The Sutton Community Hall is an historic property that has been a part of our town since the mid 1950's. The hall has been in disrepair for a couple of decades and has not been able to be used, but previously it was the heart of our community. Recently Richard Chiolero, brought an opportunity to Sutton Community Council regarding the property. Funds are available for ‘Brownfield’ projects across the nation and the Community Hall appears to be an ideal candidate. A Brownfield is an abandoned or underused property, the reuse of which is hindered by real or perceived contamination. For more information on what a Brownfield is check out this website. Richard, Tribal Response Program (TRP) Coordinator for Chickaloon Village Tribal Council, has spearheaded initial information gathering and started the process of determining eligibility for funding. A small group has begun meeting, but it is time to ask the community for input. We presented at the December 28th Sutton Community Council meeting and will be in attendance at the January 25th meeting as well. We’d like to get your feedback on the project, and also get information that may be helpful for the application if the community is in support. |
Thank you to all who participated in the Community Hall Reuse survey. We will publish results soon.
